Biodiversity, Energy, and Climate Change
admin | 2008-09-01 | 3.4 MB | details
In this issue of Liaison Energy-Francophonie, the authors will explore the issues and prospects that result from the complex links among biodiversity, energy, and climate change. They will identify the perverse effects of certain solutions that may aggravate the problems if applied without precaution. They will suggest approaches that have been developed with a view to sustainable development. They will particularly address the case of agrofuels, often presented as a panacea, which shift the pressures on biodiversity and transfer part of the energy expenditures and emissions from the transportation sector to the industrial and agricultural sectors.
