Climate change and population conference on Africa, July 1-4, 2012, Ghana
The Regional Institute for Population Studies, University of Ghana, announces the "Climate Change and Population Conference on Africa" to take place in Accra from July 01 – 04, 2012. Applications are invited for the submission of abstracts for oral and poster presentations. There are also opportunities to organise Symposia and pre-workshop events.
The theme of the conference is, "At the crossroads: climate change, population and Africa's development", with a number of subthemes including:
-Climate variability and change, vulnerability and food security
-Climate variability, drought and water resources
-Coastal systems, sea level rise and livelihoods
-Climate modelling, downscaling and scenario selection
-Climate change, gender and poverty
-Indigenous knowledge and climate adaptation
