    Summary: This project seeks to integrate the current treatment of seasonal and annual climate variability with decadal forecasts and long-term scenarios (up to 2050) generated by general circulation models (GCMs). With input from stakeholders, the research team will use an integrated modelling approach – one that combines climate change scenarios, a hydrological model, and an economic model to analyse and suggest the most practical and efficient ways of sharing water.

    Summary: Residents of Sololo in Moyale cannot remember the last time they had a meal purely grown from their farms. The drought of 2005-2006 caused huge livestock loses and breakdown of pastoral production system of their community. 70% of the livestock died during the drought and many people displaced in the process. The community is still dependent on relief food.
