Overview:

The panel consisted of Dr. Evans Kituyi, International Development Research Centre, IDRC, who chaired the session. Presenters include Blane Harvey, Institute of Development Studies, who presented on “Knowledge sharing, networks and climate compatible development”, Moussa Na Abou Mamouda, Environmental Development Action in the Third World presented on “AfricaAdapt Innovation Fund for poverty/vulnerability reduction”. Mairi Dupar of the Overseas Development Institute, acted as discussant. Issues to be explored to this event included the role of knowledge sharing and networking as levers for poverty alleviation, vulnerability reduction and sustainable development. Other areas explored included strategies for engaging with marginalized and hard-to-reach communities, and best practices for getting climate information and research into practice in the South.
